The Inner Practice: Seated Asanas with Jennifer Jacobsen ERYT-200, YACEP

January 21, 2018 | 1:00pm – 3:00pm

The Sanskrit word asana means "to sit or abide in energy". What then are we doing when we practice Yoga asanas (postures)? What is the purpose of an asana?

In this class, we will workshop close to 10 seated Yoga asanas, dissecting each one and going over each asana's physical as well as energetic components. You will learn how to maximize the vital life energy (prana) flow in each posture, and you will deepen your personal understanding and experience of each posture.

The Inner Practice: Chakras and the Energy Body with Jennifer Jacobsen ERYT-200, YACEP

March 18, 2018 | 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Modern science is beginning to prove what ancient yogis have known for thousands of years. We are more than just our minds, emotions, and bodies. Consciousness pervades the entire body and carries with it the vital life force of Prana.

In this workshop we will discuss the energy body and its uses in yoga practice including Prana, Kundalini, Nadis, Chakras, Bandhas, and Drishti. We will also discuss how asana and pranayama interact with the energy body and practice some simple yet powerful techniques for building and experiencing energy.

This workshop is open to all. No previous experience is required. This workshop will not include a physical yoga practice, just some seated techniques. You may wish to bring something comfortable to sit on as well as paper and pen for taking notes.
